Annual Report 2018–2019
Parivartan – The Change
Expanding Welfare and Livelihood Opportunities
Introduction
The year 2018–19 was marked by expansion in both animal welfare and rural livelihood initiatives.
Under 4Dogsake India, efforts in sterilization, vaccination, and adoption of stray dogs grew significantly.
Simultaneously, livelihood programs in Khedli Jeeta village advanced through the introduction of sanitary pad production,
mat knitting units, and awareness workshops for children. Together, these initiatives reflected Parivartan’s vision of
empowering communities, improving health, and promoting compassion for all living beings.
Detailed Initiatives
Animal Welfare Initiatives
Around 100 community dogs were sterilized and vaccinated against rabies near the Parivartan head office.
Through partnerships with Max Vets and SPCA (Maneka Gandhi’s initiative), many more stray dogs received medical attention.
Adoption drives were organized, giving abandoned and rescued dogs a second chance at life. One memorable adoption story was
of a paralysed stray who found a loving home through our volunteer network.

Livelihood – Sanitary Pad Making Unit
To address menstrual hygiene and women’s livelihood, machinery for a pad-making unit was sourced from Coimbatore.
Though the delivery faced an eight-month delay, Parivartan ensured momentum by upgrading an existing smaller unit.
Women began producing sanitary pads which were successfully introduced in local markets, breaking taboos and offering
an affordable hygiene solution. Several women expressed pride in creating products that directly improved community health.

Livelihood – Mat Knitting Unit
The mat knitting unit gained traction, creating steady employment opportunities. Women working in this unit not only
earned additional household income but also gained recognition within their families for their contributions. The colorful
mats became a symbol of creativity, skill, and empowerment.

to learn and express themselves, and animals were cared for with compassion. This year reinforced our belief that meaningful
change requires perseverance, partnerships, and empathy for both people and animals alike.
